TRANSFER CREDIT
Any student wishing to transfer from another institution to MTC must have been in good standing at his or her former institution. The applicant shall be responsible for providing any transcript documentation. Granting of credit for previous training will be done within the first quarter. The institution of higher education where credit was earned must be accredited by a regional or national accreditation agency.

If the applicant wishes to transfer credit for course work obtained at another institution, the following stipulations will be upheld:

  1. The applicant must furnish, as part of the application process, a certified copy (original) of his or her transcript from the former institution.
  2. Course work transferred must be concurrent with the curriculum outline of the program of study the applicant wishes to enter.
  3. Only course work with a final grade of “C” or better will be transferred.
  4. The applicant must successfully undergo an examination provided by the departmental instructor(s) at MTC when applicable.
  5. No more than 50% of the course credit from a program of study may be transferred from institutions.
  6. Students transferring from a technical college will graduate from the college where the majority of course work within the program of study was completed.
  7. Transfer of program credit is limited to a “seven year period of time” from when the credit was earned. General core classes have no time limit. Health program credit is limited to five (5) years. Select courses such as AHS 101, AHS 109 are subject to a two (2) year period of time.
  8. Exemption credit from another college will not be accepted.
