Moultrie Technical College libraries provide a customer friendly environment and organized access to information resources and services.

GALILEO is no longer the only way to  Access the e-book collection/Electronic Resource Titles.  Our e-collection is now accessible from the library online catalog.

Resources
Learning resources are available to all faculty, staff and students regardless of location due to adequate hours of operation of Moultrie Technical College (MTC) libraries and online access to web-based sources and services. Each facility (VPC-Moultrie, IDC-Moultrie and Tifton) maintain operational hours that are reflective of the unique needs and characteristics of the student population on each campus.

MTC libraries are a vital part of efforts to provide resources and services which enhance the teaching and learning environment. The library supports over 2,000 students, and over 150 faculty and staff and provides access to over 28,000 items, 150 databases, individual study-carrels, 36 computers with Internet access, GALILEO, and an online catalog, wireless Internet access, electronic and print periodicals and access to computer classrooms for library instruction to help fulfill the college’s mission and support its instructional programs.

The library has three types of printed materials--circulating, reference, and periodicals. Circulating books may be checked out for two weeks. The Reference section contains those items which may not be checked out, including almanacs, bibliographies, catalogs, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, fact books, indexes, and thesauri. The Periodicals section (magazines, journals) are shelved in title order. The most recent issues of selected newspapers are also maintained.  

Our circulating books, reference books, audiovisual/media resources are cataloged and arranged/shelved according to the Library of Congress classification system. Paperback Fiction is arranged/shelved by author.

Services
Services include: bibliographic instruction, reference assistance, library orientation, interlibrary loan, document delivery, technical assistance (accessing electronic resources, devising search strategies), administering proctored exams, copying services and resource sharing with other libraries in the service area.

Library Policies and Procedures
Eligible users of Moultrie Technical College Libraries include faculty (full and part-time), staff members, students, and adult residents of the college’s service delivery area of Colquitt, Tift, Turner, and Worth counties.

MTC students with a valid ID card may also check out books from the ABAC Library or from the local public library.
