Moultrie Technical College libraries offer a variety of resources, tools, and services for educational purposes.

Resources
Resources include books, periodicals, documents issued by the College, vendor catalogs, videocassettes, audiocassettes, CD-ROMs, computers with Office XP and instructional software, audiovisual equipment, Internet access, GALILEO, and an online catalog.

The library has three types of printed materials--circulating, reference, and periodicals. Circulating books may be checked out for two weeks. The Reference section contains those items which may not be checked out, including almanacs, bibliographies, catalogs, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, fact books, indexes, thesauri, and yearbooks. The Periodicals section contains newspapers, magazines, journals, newsletters, etc., with newspapers placed in their own subsection.

MTC students with a valid ID card may also check out books from the ABAC Library or from the local public library.

The library also has Audiovisual and Software materials available. Audiovisual materials consists almost entirely of videocassettes and audiocassettes. They may be used by service area residents in-house. Software consists of diskettes and CDs which accompany books that are in the collection.

The major classification scheme used is the one employed by the Library of Congress. We arrange most of our circulating books, reference books, software and audiovisual materials according to this method. Paperback Fiction is arranged by author.

Services
Services include: bibliographic instruction, reference assistance, orientation to library resources, interlibrary loan, technical assistance in the creation of print and non-print instructional media, and resource sharing with other libraries in the service area.
