MTC's Robin Kern Awarded Who's Who Among America's Teachers 2004


MOULTRIE , GA. Robin Kern, medical assisting instructor at Moultrie Technical College, was recognized by Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers 2004.

Who’s Who Among American Teachers honors those educators nominated by students from Who’s Who Among American High School Students and students honored in The National Dean’s List.

Approximately 156,000 teachers are featured in the current edition and are among the nation's best and most-respected teachers, according to the national organization.

Kern, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Valdosta State University, has taught at Moultrie Technical College for over four years.

Prior to joining the MTC faculty, Kern was a nurse educator at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, where she taught patients and family members regarding disease processes, care, medication and equipment.  In addition, she has worked in ICU, Outpatient Surgery and Oncology at medical facilities in Tifton.

“I always volunteered to have the nursing students shadow me so I could help them out,” Kern says of her previous medical field experience.

Kern and husband Travis have been married for 10 years.  He is the assistant choir director at Colquitt County High School. They have two sons; Kellen, eight, and Aidan, three.

Who's Who Among America's Teachers was first published in 1990. The 2004 edition was released in October.
