Moultrie Tech President Named One of 25 Most Influential South Georgians by South Georgia Business Magazine

Moultrie Technical College President Tina Anderson can’t say enough good things about Colquitt County or about the school she has led for the past two years.

Anderson said she has a fantastic faculty, staff and administration at Moultrie Tech that is dedicated to the students and the quality of education the students receive. She is grateful for the support the community and school system has given Moultrie Tech and all the energy they have spent working to make the college what it is today.

In addition to the people of Colquitt County and its schools, Anderson said area businesses have been very supportive of Moultrie Tech. The school has also received support from Colquitt Regional Medical Center and from the Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce.

Moultrie Tech is first and foremost a place to educate all of its students, Anderson said. Her ultimate dream for the college is for it to be the college of choice for students, be centered on the students and to produce students employers will want over any other college.

“The ultimate compliment to me would be for employers to want employees of the highest quality and greatest work ethic,” Anderson said, “which we strive to produce at Moultrie Tech. We are in the business of changing lives.”

The faculty, staff and administration at Moultrie Tech help to keep her going each and every day, Anderson said. She truly enjoys her job as the college’s president thanks to its faculty and staff.

“I am very lucky to be working with them,” Anderson said. “They make me feel so blessed and fortunate. It’s been a tremendous blessing and opportunity to be a part of the growth in the college’s service area.”

Anderson said she started as president at Moultrie Tech on Aug. 1, 2003, after serving as vice president of instruction and as vice president of student services at Middle Georgia Technical College. She had previously been a career service director and instructor at Middle Georgia College in Milledgeville and as an instructor at Georgia Southwestern State University and South Georgia Technical College.

In her own family, Anderson said she is not the only person in education. Her husband, Tony, is a teacher in the Thomasville City School System, and he is also a football and golf coach. They also have three dachshunds but no children.

Anderson said the rest of her family lives in north and central Georgia, but she loves being in South Georgia. She enjoys gardening and painting, especially modern art, and is involved with area activities such as the Moultrie YMCA, Colquitt County Arts Center, Moultrie Rails to Trails and Chamber of Commerce.

“There are so many reasons to love this area,” Anderson said.
