MTC-Tiftarea Academy Horticulture Students Encounter Life at Callaway
Over 50 juniors and seniors from Tiftarea Academy saw life and growth in motion during their October travels to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The trip was part of Moultrie Technical College's Environmental Horticulture class in which students achieve both high school and college credit through the college's dual-enrollment program with Tiftarea Academy. The students, along with MTC instructor Cherie White, studied a variety of different plants, interacted with hundreds of butterflies and learned the processes of growing herb and vegetable gardens at Callaway while developing a new appreciation for landscape design.
