MOULTRIE , GA. Officials from Moultrie Technical College, National Beef and the Department of Technical and Adult Education’s Quick Start division signed an agreement on October 4 that will help train close to 100 new employees for work at Moultrie’s local beef processing plant.
National Beef is one of the fastest growing, most innovative beef processors and is leading the industry in its commitment to quality, according to a statement released by Quick Start officials.
Quick Start is Georgia’s premiere economic development program, administered through the Department of Technical and Adult Education. As an economic incentive program, it provides employee training, at no cost, for qualified companies moving into the state and qualified existing companies that are expanding their workforce.
Since its beginning in 1967, Quick Start has trained more than 515,000 people through Georgia’s technical colleges in more than 4,600 expansion and relocation projects.
Quick Start will design and develop training materials and will provide instructors for the National Beef classes. However, the partnership will not end once training is completed. Moultrie Tech will be available to assist the meat processing plant with ongoing training programs.
Dr. Tina Anderson, MTC president, said of the training agreement, “We are pleased to be working with National Beef, because Colquitt County is extremely important to us at Moultrie Technical College.”
