Moultrie Technical College inducted 21 of its brightest students into the National Technical Honor Society on June 8 at the college’s annual Student Awards Ceremony. Students represented all of MTC’s service delivery area of Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth counties. |
MOULTRIE , GA. Moultrie Technical College inducted 21 students into its National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) organization at the college’s annual Student Awards Ceremony on June 8 at the Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie.
NTHS is a non-profit honor organization for students enrolled in occupational and technical programs at the college level.
Moultrie Tech president Tina Anderson, vice-president of Student Services Scott Hudson, vice-president of Instruction Jim Glass and director of Career Services and NTHS advisor Melissa Willis assisted with the induction ceremony.
NTHS inductees must be diploma or degree seeking students, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75, have completed at least 45 credit hours, have a satisfactory work ethics evaluation and be nominated by a Moultrie Technical College instructor.
Benefits of NTHS membership include special recognition at graduation, a diploma seal and letters of recommendation to potential employers when students begin their job searches following graduation.
According to the national office of NTHS, many employers specifically seek new hires through the organization because of the high level of work ethics and intelligence found in its members.
This year’s inductees are accounting student Amber Veasey ; automotive technology students Lewis Pittman and Rodney Pitts; business office technology students Carolyn Brown, Peggy Delorme and Lisa Weldon; computer information systems students Cheryl Coker and Felisha Hobgood; criminal justice technology student Katrena Johnson; drafting and design technology student Jason Poppell; early childhood care and education students Sharon Barnes, Dinitia Carithers, JoyceLynn Crapps, Evongila King, Melanie Lester and Katherine Smith; industrial systems technology student Michael Jones; marketing management student Paul Lowry; medical assisting student Angela Crumbley; and public works civil technology students Andy Adams and William Cooper.
