DEX Student Leaders Attend Fall Leadership Conference

DEX studentsMoultrie Technical College club officers experienced the best of Atlanta! The Renaissance Waverly Hotel offered unequaled accommodations as northwest Atlanta's only full-service luxury hotel. An attentive staff and superior accommodations made it an excellent choice for this year’s Sixteenth Annual Georgia Fall Leadership Conference.

“The Tech is Right” was the theme for this year’s Fall Leadership Conference, the professional development conference for Georgia’s Postsecondary student organizations. Students and advisors learned leadership strategies, discovered up-to-date techniques and developed valuable professional skills.

The conference was held during the weekend of November 17-19 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta. Registration began at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 17.

Friday night there was a pizza party/dance and Sunday there was a morning breakfast buffet. Both of these activities, along with all the other leadership development workshops, took place at the hotel.

Saturday afternoon everyone had an opportunity to participate in the March of Dimes Quarter walk. For one roll of quarters or $10 participants got a T-shirt and were eligible for door prizes given away after the walk. Later on Saturday night was Bingo night with free coke and popcorn for anyone who wanted to play. All the proceeds from BINGO and the quarter walk went to the March of Dimes.

The “Presidents’ Walk” was an exciting part of the program again this year. Our chapter Presidents were each acknowledged during the walk.

Each of our participants from Moultrie Technical College earned the Certificate of Participation. To earn the certificate each of our student leaders had to attend at least four sessions and submit a conference evaluation form. Delta Epsilon Chi members who attended the conference were: Johnny Miller, from Moultrie; Denver Smith, from Hartsfield; Rebekah Folsom, from Moultrie; Dovie Cox, from Norman Park; Amanda Miller, from Moultrie; Marshall Smith, from Tifton; and Robbie Hancock, from Norman Park.

A lot of exciting events were planned for all the student leaders to learn and have a good time representing the best of Moultrie Tech‘s Student Organizations. Thank you to everyone who participated we appreciate the quality job you did representing Moultrie Technical College.
