MTC's Viohl Named DEX Student
of the Year at State Conference

MOULTRIE , GA. Nine Marketing Management program students from Moultrie Technical College came away as winners in the Georgia Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) Career Development Conference the weekend of February 17 - February 19 in Atlanta.
Phillip Viohl of Moultrie was the first place winner in the Restaurant and Food Services Business Simulation and earned the prestigious John Overman Student of the Year Award for Georgia DEX. Renee’ Truett of Hartsfield earned first in the Travel and Tourism Marketing Management event. Johnny Miller of Moultrie was the first place winner in the Retail Merchandising Business Simulation.
Second place winners from MTC included Paul Lowry in E-Commerce, along with Crystal Hill and Josh Oliver who placed second in the Business-to-Business team event.
Third place winners from MTC were Dovie Cox in Financial Services Marketing Management; Ashli Garrick in the Hospitality Marketing Management event, and Denver Smith in the Apparel & Accessories Business Simulation event.
Smith, of Moultrie, was also elected to serve as the state association’s Reporter/Historian. According to MTC Marketing Management instructor John Overman, “The political campaigns are a highlight of the state conference.”
Each of these students is now eligible to participate in the International DEX Career Development Conference that will be held this April in Dallas, Texas.
Delta Epsilon Chi is the college division of the Distributive Education Clubs of America, DECA, and is the only student organization specifically designed to provide leadership and occupational training for students interested in careers in Marketing and Management.
