Moultrie Tech Holds Semi-Annual Commencement Ceremony


EMT gradsClose to 100 members of the Moultrie Technical College summer and fall quarter graduating classes of 2006 participated in a semi-annual Commencement ceremony held Friday evening, December 15, at Withers Auditorium in Moultrie.  For the first time in its 42-year history, the college recognized technical certificate of credit graduates at the ceremony in addition to its degree and diploma program graduates. GED program graduates from the college's four-county service area of Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth joined in the combined ceremony as well.  Electronics Technology instructor and 2006 Instructor of the Year Award winner Andy Clark led the faculty, staff and graduate processional as the event’s marshal.  MTC board of directors chair Ellen Eaton of Tift Regional Medical Center and Ms. MTC 2007 Jessica Tolbert assisted the college's administration in the conferring of awards.  A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the college's first ceremonial mace carved by MTC director of instruction Jerry Smith and carried by vice-president of instruction Jim Glass.  MTC Emergency Medical Technology graduates are pictured here celebrating their accomplishments.
