The Moultrie Technical College Radiologic Technology program held its annual awards program on Monday evening, May 22, 2006, to honor its current students and upcoming graduates for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and clinical site settings. The Rad Tech students and faculty members also honored the clinical site technologists from area hospitals who have helped them get hands-on experience.
David Spence, assistant director of diagnostic imaging at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, began the event as the keynote speaker.
The highlight of the evening was the awards presentation. Mia Luke received Perfect Attendance for two years presented by MTC Rad Tech program director Alfred Jones and MTC clinical coordinator Buffie Spencer. Osbany Moreno (not pictured) received the Scholastic Award presented by diagnostic imaging supervisor Diane Johnson of Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Julie Yates received the Mallinkcrodt Award for outstanding clinical performance presented by Leisha Owens of Tift Regional Medical Center. Mary Lynn Wilder received the Cathedral Award for outstanding clinical performance presented by director of radiology Elizabeth Davidson of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
The evening concluded with a pinning ceremony of the senior class members and program graduates and remarks from MTC president Tina Anderson.
