MOULTRIE , GA. Colquitt Regional Medical Center recently donated two hospital beds to assist Moultrie Technical College’s practical nursing program students and instructors with their classroom lab training. CRMC representatives presented and delivered the beds on September 19, 2007, to the college’s Industrial Drive campus allied health building in Moultrie.
Moultrie Tech president, Dr. Tina Anderson, stated, “ Colquitt Regional Medical Center has always been a good partner with Moultrie Tech.”
Examples of previous CRMC contributions include a laboratory on the MTC Industrial Drive campus for allied health students from both Moultrie Tech and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and a monetary donation in January 2006 to cover equipment expenses not provided for through the college’s state funds. CRMC also serves as a clinical site for MTC’s practical nursing and radiologic technology students to gain hands-on training experience.
Madis Spires, RN, CRMC vice president of patient services, commented, “The nursing program at Moultrie Technical College is exceptional. CRMC has been very pleased with the students who graduate from this program and come to work here.”
“We are very fortunate to have a facility such as Colquitt Regional Medical Center supporting our practical nursing program. Thanks to their generosity, our nursing students will have the opportunity to train in our nursing skills lab at Moultrie Tech with the same equipment they will be utilizing during their clinical training at Colquitt Regional Medical Center,” concluded Stephanie Ellis, RN, BSN, who is the MTC practical nursing program director and also a full-time instructor in the program.
