MTC Moultrie Campus PBL Makes the Grade at District

.MOULTRIE, GA. Thirteen members of Moultrie Technical College’s Moultrie Campus Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Chapter participated in District Competition at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville, Georgia on February 23, 2007. PBL is a student organization that strives to teach leadership and business skills. The students competed in areas such as Computer Concepts, Desktop Publishing, Economic Concepts, Marketing Analysis and Management, Marketing Concepts, Hospitality Management, Sales Presentation and Accounting Principles.
PBL member John Miller brought in two first place scores in the Marketing Analysis and Management and Marketing Concepts categories. Julio Jimenez placed second in both Economic Concepts and Network Concepts. Theresa Lofton placed second in Accounting Principles. Thomas Allegood came in first in Computer Concepts while Tracy Harden also scored a first in Hospitality Management. The team of Tara Byrd and Andrea Ware placed second in Desktop Publishing with Rance Rentz bringing home a first place prize in Sales Presentation. All first and second place students have earned the right to compete at State Competition which will be held April 13-15, 2007 in Atlanta.
“All of the students did very well at the competition. They competed against several other technical colleges in the south region. MTC was one of the largest groups competing. The first and second place winners will now go to Atlanta in April to compete state-wide. The students did an outstanding job representing Moultrie Technical College,” said Gerard Kwilecki, Moultrie Campus PBL advisor and accounting technology instructor.
Attending the district competition with the students were PBL chapter advisors Kwilecki and Pierre Rogers.
