Local Business Students Celebrate American Free Enterprise Day

Free Enterprise Day

Moultrie Mayor Bill McIntosh signed a proclamation naming November 15, 2007, American Free Enterprise Day with the encouragement of Moultrie Technical College's Moultrie campus Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters from Colquitt County High School and Williams Middle School.  These organizations promote leadership and business occupations in the schools.  PBL and FBLA chapters across the country also observe November 15th as American Free Enterprise Day as a time to celebrate the opportunities American citizens have to own, operate and work in private businesses. Jean M. Buckley, FBLA-PBL, Inc. president and CEO, said, “This is our time to understand, celebrate and appreciate American enterprise and entrepreneurship and for FBLA-PBL members to take ownership in the rights and responsibilities to protect and promote this freedom.”  Pictured seated on the front row, from left, is Williams Middle School FBLA officer Amber Chitty, Mayor McIntosh and Williams Middle School FBLA officer Patrick Davis.  Pictured on the middle row, from left, is MTC PBL member Kristina Martinez; CCHS FBLA officers Shanea Young, Brook NeSmith and Megan White; and MTC PBL member Tonda Kilgore.  On the back row is MTC PBL member Vertis Madison.
