Moultrie Tech Tifton Nursing Students Needle the Flu

Moultrie Technical College’s Tifton Campus senior-level Practical Nursing students participated in flu shot clinics with the Tift County Public Health Department recently.

The students and their instructors visited seven schools in the Tift County School System with their sharps and flu vaccines in hand and also “needled” faculty, staff and students on their own MTC Tifton Campus. More than 220 flu shots were given in two days. According to Tammy Groover, MTC Tifton practical nursing instructor, “It was a learning experience to build skills, promote preventive care and educate the public on healthy choices to protect themselves from the flu season.”  Pictured, bottom left, while trying to grin instead of grimace during his vaccination, is Scott Hudson, MTC vice-president for student affairs.
