Moultrie Tech Tifton Holds Nurse Pinning Ceremony


Nursing GraduatesMoultrie Technical College’s Tifton Campus held its semi-annual Nurse Pinning Ceremony for summer quarter on September 20th at the college’s Tifton conference center.  The ceremony honored fourteen graduates from the MTC Tifton campus’ practical nursing program, which requires six quarters of in-class study and many hours of hands-on clinical experience in area hospitals and physicians’ offices.  The graduates will sit for the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses exam within the next month to become eligible to be employed as nurses.  Graduates pictured at their candle lighting ceremony are, front row from left, Mary Daniels, Tammie Barfield, Paula Clark, Linda Beasley, Brandy Rhodes, Jacki Hancock, Bonnie Crosby and Shantate Henderson.  Pictured, second row from left, are Melinda Rutland, Beckie Baker, Stefanie Elmore, Chasity Sellars, Renee Owens and Tammy Gray.  Rhodes was honored with the MTC Nursing Leadership award for achieving the highest academic average in the classroom and in clinical training.  Danny Warren, RN, BSN, CEN, who is an emergency room nurse at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta and an adjunct nursing instructor at MTC, was the featured speaker at the ceremony.
