Moultrie Tech Lends a Hand at Teen Maze

Picture of studentsMoultrie Technical College’s Turner County and Tifton campus students, faculty and staff lent their hands to the Georgia Rural Abstinence Program’s Teen Maze event in April in Ashburn.  The maze is an interactive experience for students to learn that decisions they make affect the rest of their lives. The maze was conducted one week prior to prom and was sponsored by an abstinence grant through the Safe Schools Health Students Initiative.  Moultrie Tech (MTC) is a partner in this collaborative.  MTC’s Tifton campus Medical Assisting students and instructor Elizabeth Peace did research for the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) information hall and STD treatment clinic and made posters showing the growth of a fetus and had models development as well.  MTC’s Turner County campus Industrial Electrical Construction dual-enrollment students from Turner County High School and instructor Jerry Gunn built the Maze and the STD Wheel.  The following faculty and staff from the Turner County campus volunteered in the maze as well:  Angela Barbee, Brandi Giddens, Tashamba Knighton, Donna Waters and Peggy Wilson.  Pictured with the maze are the MTC Medical Assisting students.
