Moultrie Tech SkillsUSA Assists CRMC Pediatric Patients |
 |
The Moultrie Technical College SkillsUSA student organization donated $500 to the Colquitt Regional Medical Center Pediatric Unit on March 19. The funds, which were collected in addition to over 400 toys donated to the Children’s Cheer Shop during the college’s M. Shane Willis Toy Drive in December, will be used to buy toys and coloring books for children during their stay at CRMC. According to Jason Edwards, MTC SkillsUSA advisor and construction trades instructor, the drive is held annually in memory of a former MTC student. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. Pictured, from left, are CRMC Pediatric Resource nurse Dottie Ward, MTC student and SkillsUSA officer Simmie Hall, and Edwards.
