Delta Epsilon Chi, or DEX, the Marketing Management student organization at Moultrie Technical College, recently sponsored a campus wide drive for the Serenity House shelter for battered women and their children as their Summer Quarter 2008 community service project.
Teresa Wilson, MTC DEX chapter president, said, “We encouraged campus wide participation in the drive and we are extremely proud of the positive response we received from the students and faculty who participated in the Serenity House drive.”
DEX started the drive on August 13 and concluded it on September 17. Items collected for the shelter included over the counter medications, health, beauty and hygiene items, infant and children needs, office supplies, paper products, laundry supplies, and cleaning supplies that are needed on a regular basis.
Delta Epsilon Chi is the college division of the Distributive Education Clubs of America, DECA, and is the only student organization operating in the public post secondary school system dedicated exclusively to developing future leaders for Marketing and Management.
