DEX State Conference Participants

Moultrie Technical College’s Delta Epsilon Chi marketing management students won big awards and state offices at the 2008 Georgia DEX Career Development Conference held in Atlanta February 15-17. MOULTRIE , GA. Six Marketing Management students from Moultrie Technical College participated in the Georgia Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) Career Development Conference the weekend of February 15 - February 17 and are now eligible to participate in the International DEX Conference. This year's state conference was held at the Holiday Inn Select in Atlanta.

Teresa Wilson, of Moultrie, and Jeff Ingle, of Pavo, were elected to serve as state officers for the coming year. Wilson was elected President of the state association and Ingle was elected to serve as the state association’s Reporter/Historian. The political campaigns are a highlight of the state conference, and it is quite an honor to be elected to serve as a state officer.

Janice Horton, of Tifton, and Tori Green, of Moultrie, each earned second place honors in their respective competitive events. Horton placed second in the Restaurant and Food Services Business Simulation. Green earned second in the Sales Representative event.

Wilson, Mar’Quise Knight of Moultrie, Ingle, and Kristi Peacock of Doerun were each third place winners from Moultrie Tech. Wilson was third in the Fashion Merchandising and Marketing Business Simulation; Knight earned third in the Restaurant and Food Services Business Simulation; and Ingle and Peacock placed third in the Business-to-Business Case Study Team event.

John Overman, MTC Marketing Management Instructor and DEX advisor said, “I am very proud of each of these students and the recognition they earned. All of them are now eligible to participate in the International Career Development Conference that will be held this April in Atlanta, Georgia.”

Delta Epsilon Chi is the college division of the Distributive Education Clubs of America, DECA, and is the only student organization specifically designed to provide leadership and occupational training for students interested in careers in Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship.
