MTC Nursing Grad Russell Named CRMC Nephrology Nurse of the Year

Elaine Russell, LPN, has been chosen as Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s Nephrology Department 2008 Nurse of the Year. Russell graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Moultrie Technical College in 2000 and has been working as an LPN in the dialysis department at CRMC for four years. Russell passed the certified clinical hemodialysis technician exam in 2006.
According to CRMC Marketing Specialist Neali McRae, “This is a special recognition because the dialysis patients vote for the nurse of their choice. The award was given during National Nephrology Nurses Week for which the theme was ‘We Carry the Torch’, because nephrology nurses light the way in the care of kidney patients.”
“It gives me great pleasure to serve our people and community,” Russell said. “God has blessed me to be able to help others.”
