MTC's Hester Wants to Aid Clients Needing GEDs
TIFTON — A musician who also serves as an adult education instructor with Moultrie Technical College’s correctional facility program doesn’t want money to be the reason his clients don’t earn their GED, so he is donating profits from his first solo release, “With All My Heart.”
Gary Hester has played for numerous professional gospel artists such as the Mighty Clouds of Joy and the Violinaires. He currently performs primarily with Nathan Bartell & Reality, who received the gospel album of the year award. Along with the group’s new album this year, “Live With Jesus,” Hester’s falsetto vocals are featured on such songs as “God’s Will.”
The adult education program, through MTC and the Georgia Department of Corrections, allows offenders to obtain their GED, which is mandated by the courts. Hester believes those men who earn their GED have a brighter future.
