Moultrie Tech's PBL Plays Santa for Foster Children |
 |
 |
The Moultrie Technical College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), along with MTC Electronics department chairman Andy Clark and his daughter Haley, gave back to their community by purchasing Christmas gifts for some of Colquitt County’s foster children. According to PBL advisor and computer information systems instructor Pierre Rogers, “Spirits were high, and there were smiles all around as gifts were purchased and delivered to the Georgia Department of Human Resources Department of Family and Children Services in Moultrie on Friday, December 14 th…all of the MTC family involved in the project felt as if Christmas had already arrived.” Linda Lofton, a former PBL advisor and current business office technology instructor, provided much needed guidance and clothing recommendations. Haley Clark, in remembering times of Christmases past, helped pick out just the right stocking stuffers to compliment a little girls’ Christmas morning. After several trips to local retailers the “MTC Santas” had filled PBL advisor and accounting instructor Gerard Kwilecki’s sleigh with new shoes, clothes, gifts, toys, bicycles and bike helmets. Kwilecki also arranged for a special Christmas meal for the foster children. DFCS case supervisor Pam Helms and case worker Mary Web accepted the gifts on behalf of the children.
