Moultrie Tech PBL Scores at State 2008

The Veterans Parkway Campus chapter of Moultrie Technical College’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) student organization traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, April 11-13 to participate in the 2008 PBL State Conference and Competition.  Phi Beta Lambda is a student organization which promotes business and leadership skills.

Six students competed in various competitions with all students placing in the top five in their respective events. The local college organization also received three chapter awards, including two first place accolades as corporate sponsors and as foundation sponsors, as well as a third place finish for interaction with the Future Business Leaders of America (FLBA) organization.

Speaking highly of the students, PBL chapter adviser and accounting technology instructor Gerard Kwilecki said, “They did an excellent job representing Moultrie Technical College, and we are proud of them.”

Students who placed in their respective competitions are: Kristina Martinez, third place in Financial Analysis & Decision Making; Tonda Kilgore, third place in Cyber Security; Rance Rentz, third place in Sales Presentation; Luke Goodroe, fifth place in Sports Management and Marketing; and Garrett Presley, Timothy Miller and Goodroe, fourth place in the team event of Website Design.

Kilgore and Martinez each earned the director level award for the Career and Membership Achievement Program.  They were two of only 26 students in the state to achieve this recognition.
