Moultrie Technical College held its semi-annual Nurse Pinning Ceremony for summer quarter on September 19, 2008, at the college’s Veterans Parkway campus conference center. The ceremony honored six graduates from the MTC Moultrie campus’ Practical Nursing program, which requires six quarters of in-class study and many hours of hands-on clinical experience in area hospitals and physicians’ offices. The graduates will sit for the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses exam within the next month to become eligible to be employed as nurses. Graduates pictured at their candle lighting ceremony are, bottom to top, left to right, Kelli Oliver, Barbara Hayes, Valerie Moye, Jennifer Simmons, Olivia Fuller and Stephanie Nichols. Hayes was named the winner of Moultrie Tech’s Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) for 2008 in March, which is the award given to top MTC student annually.
