Students from Lisa Marchant's Science III Adult Education class at Moultrie Technical College’s Tifton Campus ventured to Albany, Georgia, on Thursday, May 8, 2008, to visit The Parks at Chehaw and the Flint Riverquarium. This concluded a three-week study on plant and animal science in which the students gained hands-on access to several varieties of local flora and fauna found in the Southwest Georgia area. Besides learning about indigenous species, students were amazed by the close encounters they experienced with cheetahs, zebras, rhinos, and freshwater fish during their field study. Marchant said, “Instructors at MTC’s Tifton Campus believe hands-on experience and real life scenarios are best for preparing students for their future.” Pictured on the front row are Kendra Hudson, Jennifer Adamson, Josefina Medrano and Elizabeth Thompson; and on the back row are Danzel Jones, James Parks, Matthew Godfrey, Brandon Miller and Tyler Barker.
