When Moultrie Technical College begins its Fall Quarter on Sept. 30, it will be without the full-time services of four faculty members with a combined 150 years of experience. Three of those, however, have agreed to remain at the college part-time.
Marketing management instructor John Overman, Director of Information Technology David Akridge, Registrar Gerald Dunaway and Dean of Academic Affairs Jerry Smith retired from full-time positions over the summer. Of the four, only Overman will not continue to work with the college on a part-time basis.
Moultrie Tech President Tina Anderson said all four have seen the college grow tremendously, from as few as 40 students to the almost 2,500 students enrolled now. Moultrie Tech is a great college today because of their presence and teaching abilities.
“This college was a better college because of them,” Anderson said.
