Delta Epsilon Chi, the Marketing Management club at Moultrie Technical College, recently kicked-off their annual campus wide drive for the Serenity House shelter for battered women and their children as their Summer Quarter community service project.
The members hosted a luncheon for Serenity House Director Blue Shaddix and Transitional Case Manager Rachel Lamas. Shaddix talked to the club members about the diversity of needs within the organization and how the changes in the economy have increased those needs. She also discussed some of the ways the Serenity House is working to help those in need.
Items to be collected for the shelter include over the counter medications, health, beauty and hygiene items, infant and children needs, office supplies, paper products, laundry supplies, and cleaning supplies that are needed on a regular basis.
DEX is the college division of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) and is the only student organization operating in the public post secondary school system dedicated exclusively to developing future leaders for Marketing and Management.
