MTC's Bentley Earns First at State DEX Conference

Eleven Marketing Management Students from Moultrie Technical College participated in the Georgia Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) Career Development Conference February 13-15 in Atlanta, and seven are now eligible to participate in the International Delta Epsilon Chi Conference.
Stephanie Bentley, from Tifton, earned first place honors in the Hospitality Marketing Business Simulation. In the Business Simulation events students had to complete a 100- question test and take part in a role play simulation with two judges who are professionals in marketing management.
Jennifer Evans, from Moultrie, placed second in the Fashion Merchandising and Marketing Business Simulation; Clinton Proctor, of Moultrie, earned second in the Restaurant and Food Services Business Simulation; and Charlee Collins, from Camilla, placed second in the Travel & Tourism Marketing Business Simulation. Ezekiel Holton, from Moultrie, was fourth in Restaurant and Food Services and Daniel Ruffin, of Tifton, was fourth in Retail Marketing.
Meg Turner, from Moultrie, and Allison Bo DeMott, from Norman Park, were the second place winners in the Business Ethics Case Study Event. Karina Ventura, from Moultrie, earned second place honors for her case study event in Human Resources Management. Garrett Miller, from Ellenton, and Tarry Anderson, from Moultrie, placed fourth in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing case study event.
John Overman, MTC Marketing Management Instructor and DEX advisor said, “I am very proud of each of these students and the recognition they earned. All of first and second place winners are now eligible to participate in the International Career Development Conference that will be held this April in Anaheim, California.”
Overman was also recognized with two plaques at the state conference. One was for Outstanding Service to Georgia Delta Epsilon Chi over the last 32 years in which he has served as a leader and an advisor. He also received a plaque recognizing him as Advisor of the Year.
Delta Epsilon Chi is the college division of the Distributive Education Clubs of America, DECA, and is the only student organization specifically designed to provide leadership and occupational training for students interested in careers in Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship.
