Moultrie Tech Foundation Plans First
MTC Classic Road Race

The Moultrie Technical College Foundation has announced the beginning of a new event that promises to get people off their couches and out on the road the first Saturday in May.

With the goal of raising money for student scholarships and much-needed instructional equipment for the College, the MTC Foundation has planned the first-ever MTC Classic Road Race – Education at a Fast Pace – on Saturday, May 2, beginning and ending at Packer Park in Moultrie.

Events will include 5K and 10K races for runners and a 1-mile Fun Run and Walk. Prizes will be given in the following categories for the 10K and 5K races:  overall male and female winners and the top three males and females in the 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over age groups.
Prizes will be given in the following categories for the 1-Mile Fun Run and Walk:  overall male and female winners and the top three males and females in the 8 & under, 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over age groups.

Pre-registration for 12 years and up is $15.00 if received on or before April 24.  Late registration and day of event registration will be $18.00.  Registration for children 11 and under is $10.00.  All participants will receive an official race day t-shirt. Event proceeds will benefit the MTC Foundation, and all donations are tax deductible.

On-site registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at Packer Park with the 5K and 10K races starting at 7:30 a.m.  The 1-Mile Fun Run and Walk will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The race awards ceremony will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. back at Packer Park.
