Community Career Fair Sets Job Seekers on Employment Track

Moultrie Technical College (MTC), the Georgia Department of Labor’s Moultrie Career Center and the Colquitt County Employer Committee made strides in matching job seekers with employers from over 50 businesses and industries exhibiting at the annual Community Career Fair held Thursday, April 30, at MTC’s Veterans Parkway campus conference center. Close to 400 job hunters brought resumes and practiced their interview and networking skills in hopes of landing the ideal job despite a tough economy. MTC Director of Career Services Lisa Griffin said of the fair, “Employers noted that they were impressed with the quality of this year’s job applicants and their advance preparation for the event.” Pictured, center, is George “Buz” Busbee, Jr., human resources manager of the Miller Coors Plant in Albany, discussing employment opportunities with MTC students, graduates and members of the general public.
