The Moultrie Technical College Foundation’s first-ever MTC Classic Road Race saw over 90 runners and walkers from all over South Georgia and North Florida hit the pavement at Packer Park in Moultrie on Saturday morning, May 2.
With the goal of raising money for student scholarships and much-needed instructional equipment for the College in Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth Counties, the MTC Classic Road Race – Education at a Fast Pace - included 5K and 10K races for runners and a 1-Mile Fun Run and Walk.
“We were very pleased with the participation of the runners and walkers in our region and their support of our first race. The event would not have been possible without our corporate sponsors and the cooperation of the City of Moultrie Police Department, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department and the Georgia Department of Transportation. We look forward to growing the race next year and continuing to raise support for Moultrie Tech,” said MTC Foundation Director Darbie Avera.
