Moultrie Tech PBL Students Make the Grade at District Competition

PBL South District Competition

Moultrie Technical College’s Moultrie Campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a student organization designed to promote business and leadership skills, traveled to Albany, Georgia, on February 20 to compete in the PBL South District Conference.  Four students participated in several competitive events.  All MTC Moultrie Campus students placed in the top three in his or her respective events.  James Emory placed first in Contemporary Sports Issues, while Sheila Weber took the top prize in both the Sales Presentation and Accounting Analysis/Decision Making categories.  Kristina Martinez won first in Information Management and second in Financial Concepts. PBL member Luke Goodroe took third in Contemporary Sports Issues.  Additionally, the team of Emory and Martinez finished in first place in the Battle of the Chapters, which is a competition where teams are tested on their knowledge of PBL.  Because all the MTC Moultrie Campus students won first or second place in their competitive events, they are now eligible to travel to Atlanta for the state PBL competition in April.  Pictured, from left to right, at the South District competition, are Kristina Martinez, Luke Goodroe, Jamie Emory, Sheila Weber and MTC Accounting instructor and Moultrie PBL advisor Gerard Kwilecki.
