Pictured left, Evedo Pineda, an automotive technology student at Tift County High School through Moultrie Technical College’s dual enrollment program, took second place at the regional SkillsUSA contest in the Automotive Technology category on February 25th in Moultrie. He has advanced to the State SkillsUSA competition, to be held in Atlanta April 16-18, where he will compete for a spot in the National Competition.  Formerly known as VICA, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.  The dual enrollment program through the Technical College System of Georgia allows students to gain high school and technical college credit simultaneously.  Moultrie Tech offers Automotive Technology classes taught by instructor Toby Heard, right, on the campus of Tift County High School during the day.
