Moultrie Technical College’s (MTC) Tifton Campus and the Georgia Department of Labor’s Tifton Career Center made progress in matching a record number of job seekers with 50 businesses and industries exhibiting at the annual Community Career Fair held Thursday, November 5, at MTC’s Tifton Campus conference center. Over 550 job hunters brought resumes and practiced their interview and networking skills in hopes of landing the ideal job despite a tough economy and recent industry layoffs. This year’s event marked the highest number of attendees and employers in the history of the Tifton fair. MTC Director of Career Services Wendi Tostenson said of the fair, “Employers commented that this was the best crowd they have seen and the best job fair they have been to in a long time.” Pictured, right, is Joy Carter of South Georgia Banking Company in Tifton, discussing employment opportunities with MTC marketing management student Scott Tuten, left.
