Moultrie Mayor Bill McIntosh signed a proclamation naming November 15, 2009, American Free Enterprise Day with the encouragement of Moultrie Technical College's Moultrie campus Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters from Colquitt County High School and Williams Middle School. These organizations promote leadership and business occupations in the schools. PBL and FBLA chapters across the country also observe November 15th as American Free Enterprise Day as a time to celebrate the opportunities American citizens have to own, operate and work in private businesses. Jean M. Buckley, FBLA-PBL, Inc. president and CEO, said, “This is our time to understand, celebrate and appreciate American enterprise and entrepreneurship and for FBLA-PBL members to take ownership in the rights and responsibilities to protect and promote this freedom.” Pictured seated is Mayor McIntosh. In attendance at the signing were MTC PBL advisors Cari Colby, Pierre Rogers and Gerard Kwilecki with MTC PBL members Talandra Cotton, Steven Ferrer and Sheila Weber. From CCHS were FBLA advisor Laura Tyler and FBLA members Alycia Gant, Jazsmyne Harper, Meghan Lovett, Antonese Wilson and Joseph Woodcum. Williams Middle School FBLA member Marlene Weber was also present.
