Ten students enrolled in the corrections program with Moultrie Technical College’s Turner County Campus were recently awarded GED diplomas. Students receive two to four hours of instruction each day, Monday through Thursday, with instructor Rosalie Parker. A graduation ceremony was held January 27 in Abbeville at the Wilcox State Prison. The speaker was the former Commissioner of Corrections James Donald. Jarrell Walker, unit manager of the Turner Pre-Release Center, spoke highly of the program saying, “Mrs. Parker is a wonderful instructor, and I am proud of the progress these students have made.” Pictured, left to right, are Rasheen Roney, Anthony Hunter, Gregory Allen, Timothy Miles, GED instructor Rosalie Parker, Devon Walker, Israel Radford, Joshua Rivers and Nicholas Lynn.
