MTC Turner County Veterans Honored

Ashburn Campus Veterans

Moultrie Technical College honored the Veterans from its four campuses on November 11, 2010, on the MTC Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie. Attending  from the MTC Turner County campus was Jerry Gunn, the Electrical Construction Technology instructor. Gunn, pictured left, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, the Philippines and California. MTC student Lamondro Graddiac, a Cosmetology major from Donna Waters’ class, was another guest. Graddiac, pictured right, served in the U.S. Navy for ten years. He was released with an Honorable discharge due to an injury obtained while serving. Graddiac was stationed in Mississippi, California, Norway and Okinawa, Japan. He was later sent back to the states for special training in a task force, as well as to Afghanistan and Haiti to help restore peace. “It was a beautiful ceremony and luncheon. Both of these men are very proud and honored that they served our country. I had the honor to ride to Moultrie and hear some of their stories. I’m very thankful for the privilege of attending the luncheon with two of our finest Veterans. If you know someone who is a Veteran, please remember to say ‘Thank you’. Don’t be too busy not to remember the sacrifices they made for all of our freedom we are so richly blessed with.  Freedom isn’t free. Veterans paid our price for it,” said Waters.
