MTC Classic Road Race Crowns 2011 Champions

Moultrie Technical College’s Foundation saw clear skies and a cool breeze at Saturday’s 3rd Annual MTC Classic Road Race as 10K male overall champion Mark McLeod of Fitzgerald crossed the finish line. With the goal of raising funds for student scholarships and instructional equipment for the College in Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth counties, the MTC Classic Road Race – Education at a Fast Pace - included 5K and 10K races and a 1-Mile Fun Run and Walk. The race began and ended at the College’s Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie. Final verified race results in all contest and age categories will be released within the next week at www.moultrietech.edu/foundation and race photos will be available for viewing on the Moultrie Technical College Foundation page on Facebook. Preliminary race results show 10K runner Hope Moore and 5K runner Katherine McGarr as the female overall champions with 10K runner McLeod and 5K runner Raymond Jenkins as the male overall champions. Overall winners in the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk race were Zack Ulakovits and Bella Underwood.
