Simulator to Train Police in Use of Force
State-of-the-art system to be housed at Moultrie Tech
Law enforcement officers from across the area will soon have the opportunity in Moultrie to get more training in the use of force during the course of their duties.
Moultrie Police Chief Frank Lang said the City of Moultrie recently purchased a $200,000 “judgmental use of force simulator.” The simulator was purchased through a grant that was secured through local congressional members, including U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss. It will be available for use for training by all surrounding jurisdictions.
The simulator allows officers to train using real life situations where decisions have to be made and not just turning targets, Lang said. It will be housed indoors at Moultrie Technical College, allowing officers to train in any weather conditions.
