The City of Moultrie and Moultrie Technical College officially opened its newest law enforcement training facility Monday.

The City of Moultrie recently purchased a VirTra Systems judgmental “use of force” simulator that will be used to help law enforcement personnel throughout Southwest Georgia. The $200,000 simulator, purchased through a COPS grant, will be housed at Moultrie Tech, where it will also be used by the [MTC] criminal justice [technology] program. It allows officers to train in real-life scenarios using verbal commands, lethal and non-lethal weapons, and it is the only system on the East Coast with the breachable door training ability.

Moultrie Tech President Tina Anderson said she was very thankful to have the simulator and what it will mean for law enforcement officers in the area. She also expressed thanks to  U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, who was in attendance, and how he has been a huge supporter of Moultrie Tech.
