Moultrie Tech Hosts 35 Law Enforcement Agencies to Train on Use of Force Simulator

Law enforcement officers from 35 agencies across the state of Georgia came to Moultrie Tech on Friday, July 27, to train on the Virtra Systems 360-degree Use of Force (firearms) simulator. The City of Moultrie purchased the $200,000 five-screen simulator in the fall of 2011 through a grant that was secured through local congressional members, including U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss. It is available for use for training by all surrounding jurisdictions as well as MTC’s Criminal Justice Technology program students. The simulator allows officers and students to train using real life situations, including those with on-campus intruders and shooters at schools, where decisions have to be made and not just on turning targets. It is housed indoors on Moultrie Technical College’s Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie.

Check out these three TV news stories about the day’s training activities from WALB-TV, WCTV and WXFL-FOX 31.
