Moultrie Tech Career Fair to Aid Area Job Seekers
MOULTRIE, GA. Organizers of the upcoming 2013 Community Career Resource Fair in Moultrie on Thursday, March 21, say they hope the event will be a catalyst in transitioning local job hunters into members of a viable workforce.
An estimated 50 local businesses and industries will assemble at Moultrie Technical College’s (MTC) Veterans Parkway Campus Conference Center from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for the 2013 Community Career Resource Fair.
Moultrie Tech and the Moultrie office of the Georgia Department of Labor will join forces to present the event to familiarize the businesses and industries in our region and job hunters with one another.
The event is open to the public as well as all Moultrie Tech students and graduates. Whether or not employers have jobs to offer at this time, job seekers will benefit from learning about local companies and what skills they would expect their employees to possess. In turn, businesses may find matches for future employment. Industries expected to be at the fair include healthcare, industrial manufacturing, sales and banking, among others.
“Moultrie Technical College’s spring semester ends May 2; therefore, businesses and industries will have the opportunity to meet the College’s graduating class as well as upcoming summer semester graduates. If an employer finds a good fit for an employment need, our well-trained, educated graduates will be ready to start work within a few weeks of the career fair,” says Erica Stallings, MTC Student Affairs Coordinator.
Additionally, all job seekers are encouraged to bring updated resumes and all information necessary to complete job applications on site. Furthermore, to create a positive impact on employers, Stallings urges participants to “make a great first impression; consider this the first interview with a future employer,” and come dressed in business attire. Because this is a professional event and space is limited, no children or strollers will be permitted.
Among the employers expected to participate in the fair are Albany Police Department, Albany Recruitment Center, Berrien County Board of Education, Colson Printing, Vocational Rehabilitation, Equity Group Georgia Division, US Air Force, Lowes, Telamon Corporation, Labor Finders, US Army, Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, Lowndes 911, New Hire Solutions, Woodmen of the World, Keystone Foods, Lemongrass Day Span, Lil Geekshop, Pointe Wiregrass, Sanderson Farms, Southern Care Hospice, and Walgreens.
Admission and parking for the career fair are free. For more details about the 2013 Community Career Resource Fair, contact MTC Student Affairs Coordinator Erica Stallings at (229) 217-4149.
