Written Instructions for Blackboard
The following
information applies to those courses which use
Blackboard for the Internet Course Management
System.
- After you have properly registered for your
course, contact the instructor of the course
via e-mail before the first day of class. Instructors
may or may not issue access until the first
day of class.
NOTE: You must complete the online orientation course, MTC ONLINE 101, prior to gaining access to your online course. This is a mandatory, one-time orientation course. You will be granted access to your requested course(s) upon completion of the orientation course. For more information, please contact the online staff at online@moultrietech.edu.
- Using your login and password issued to you
by the instructor, logon to http://gvtc7.blackboard.com.
- Once access is granted into the Blackboard
site, click on the "Announcements" button in the
upper left corner. Read any announcements posted
there by your instructor. Logon to the site
each day to read the announcements.
- Click on "Course Information" button
to review the course syllabus, instructions
for how to send files to the instructor, course
policies, and other important information. Print
these documents for your records.
- Click on "MTC Contacts" button
to review the instructor's contact information, online staff and business office information.
Most online instructors post home numbers for
emergencies. Print all contact information for
your records.
- Click on "Assignments" to review
documents posted there. In most cases, this
is the most important link. This link has the
assignment sheet wherein all exercises and material
required for students is posted. Due dates for
those assignments are posted under "Tools"--Calendar.
- Click on the "Discussion Board " link.
This link houses the Discussion Board which
is required for all online students. Instructors
will post a question(s) and all students will
"add a new thread" and post a response.
Everyone in the class will be able to read each
others comments and quite often, instructors
ask students to reply to one another's comments.
- Click on the "Exams" link. This is where the instructor will post all exams for the course.
- Click on "Work Ethics." Each week of the quarter, you will be given a Work Ethic Trait to discuss. This program is designed to encourage good work habits in the areas of quality of work, ability to follow instructions, productivity, dependability, honesty, reliability, attendance and punctuality, attitude, integrity, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, and initiative.
- Click on "Academic Resources" to review
the websites that pertain to your course, along with other important resources.
- Click on "Tools." This link has
access to the "check grade" link which
allows you to review your grades at any time.
"Tools" also accesses the "Calendar"
which has all assignment due dates.
